Easy ways for you to pay for your treatments and supplies.

As of this week, you can now pay for treatments via cash, cheque (with a bankers card) and now also with the most popular debit or credit cards.

Due to a large number of new clients asking to pay for their treatments via card rather than cash or cheque, and due to some of my corporate clients being more at ease paying with debit or credit cards, I have now added this facility for your convenience.

This also makes it easier when paying for treatments in advance (Big discounts given for this, see my website). When using you credit card, you still get that interest free period before you have to pay it off (As I'm sure you all do). Most clients find it easier now to pay for other supplies such as hot/cold packs, orthopaedic pillows, car back supports, golfer's elbow supports, wobble boards, Bio-freeze muscle rub, etc, (Again see my website for the items I can supply)

I hope you all find this as convenient as I do and although it has taken me a long time to impliment this system, please tell me of any further improvments you would like to see at the practice and I will do my utmost to bring them in for you.

These are the cards which are supported by the system and are identified by the following logos on your debit or credit card.

Christmas De-Stress Massage

Be good to yourself this Christmas. You know you deserve it!

You’ll love the way you feel when you treat yourself to one of lifes little pleasures. Reward yourself with an unhurried, one hour, de-stress massage and let me remove all those stresses and strains that accumulate so quickly at this festive Christmas-time.

Try a little self-indulgence for a change. Come in and lie down and feel yourself melt into the couch as I gently work out all those knots and get your muscles to relax. Listen to some calming music and “feel the tension drain away” from those aching neck and shoulder muscles.

You’ll almost immediately start to feel rested and more comfortable.Let those tired hands and arms feel eased as they let-go of their tensions and allow you to feel an all-over deep relaxation that will be like floating on a soft velvety cloud.

If you like, you can imagine that you are far away from the hustle and bustle of suburban-life, taking it easy in an expensive, private retreat, as the muscles in your aching legs and feet are soothed and papmered.

Let all the frustration just “melt away” as those overworked muscles of your back, bask in their new feeling of relaxation. Let the pure bliss of the moment wash over you.

You’ll love the way your body will go “Ahhhh!” and thank you for it, as you feel that deeply satisfying contentment and inner peace, permeate through every pore of your body. You’ll come away feeling like you’re walking on air, blissed out, revived and energised for the New-Year ahead.

This special offer massage is only for the Christmas and New-Year period. So book your appointment soon before they all disappear. Go to the Acclaim Pain Relief website to find out how to book yours.

Have a Merry and Relaxing Christmas, and a Stress-Free New-Year.

Tom Harper.

Top Ten Tips for looking after your Back

Some of these tips may seem simple, but take note of them. So many of the people that I see in my practice, wouldn't be there if they had followed their advice.

  1. For back pain or any pain, it's better to see your osteopath earlier rather than later. It's much easier and cost effective to treat a twinge before it becomes something else.
  2. Take regular exercise. You don't have to run a marathon, just do something that you enjoy every day.
  3. Hours in one position can cause problems - avoid spending too much time bent over a computer or workbench.
  4. During repetitive tasks, vary your rhythm and take frequent breaks.
  5. Adjust car seats and on long journeys, take regular breaks to stretch your whole body.
  6. Pace yourself with heavy work like gardening - don't risk a disc.
  7. Watch your children's posture - they shouldn't carry heavy bags on one shoulder.
  8. During pregnancy, osteopathy can help your body adjust to its changes and prevent problems from occurring.
  9. Avoid strain when lifting, particularly when lifting small children, and lifting and twisting with shopping bags (i.e. putting them in the back of your car).
  10. Seek good backcare advice from your osteopath, that's what we're here for, so speak to us before you have to visit us.

I shall be elaborating on some of these points in later posts, so until then, look after yourself.
